All the necessary parts were included at a significantly lower cost than the dealer would have charged. With no instructions, it took a socket wrench and 15 minutes to install. Skip the dealer, buy the part and install it yourself. Even if you need to buy the socket, it will be cheaper than dealer installation.

Have you ever experienced the unpleasant situation that you suddenly cannot lower the tailgate on your Chevy Silverado pickup? Due to the design and materials used by GM, with time, the small plastic clips that held the latch release rods to the tailgate handle eventually brake. This leaves you with a tailgate that you can't lower. This replacement part was an exact match, and with just a few minutes work, restored the tailgate latch release mechanism to factory function. It would have been nice to be able to purchase the only the plastic connectors, but it seems that that would make too much sense, and they only sell entire assemblies. This part worked exactly as expected.

Replacement tailgate handle works exactly as expected and looks exactly like original. doesn't come with instructions, but anyone with even modest mechanical skills and a socket wrench can figure out how to install it. i'd never replaced one before and it only took about 15-20 minutes to get the broken one out and new one in. very reasonable price for the quality.
